Regarding to protect and safeguard our environment and food cultivation , If I could make available food cultivation / soil information, roots force information, environment status available to farmers to use effectively and produce more .Apart from that automated irrigation system controlled by farmers remotely with automated plant medicine spray on requirement. This can improve productivity and knowledges about real time status and changes available for everyone beneficiary.

I am trying to build an open source farm Monitoring and control System using INTEL EDISON and different sensor to collect data and upload to cloud and control agriculture pump with irrigation on requirement for water supply to plants. Spray the medicines to plants on requirement for better productivity.

Following are the different sensors and control module to be used

• Soil Sensor

• EC Sensor

• PH Sensor

• Diametric growth sensor

• Sensore Tensiometer

• Temperature sensor

• Humidity Sensor

• Solid state relay

• Inbuilt battery RTC

• diametric growth sensor

• Water sensor

• GPS module

• Spray control unit

• Wifi Module

These sensor and control units are interfaced with an intel EDISON where data collected and monitored from all sensors as well as agriculture pump / irrigation , plant medicine spray controlled remotely. All data uploaded to database through wifi

Through this way changed in soil monitored by farmers to improve productivity and helps for making better future.

What are you creating?

I am creating an Intel Edison based system that senses and record soil information and controls agriculture pump / irrigation , plant medicine spray on requirement remotely. It is available to user through laptop, tablet and smartphone etc.

Why does it matters?

As farmers produces food and is important who help environment continuously. Need of society to increase productivity of cultivation / food by protecting environment. Everyone like us should decide and deploy similar system in farmers farm and educate to use efficiently for productivity and data available to everyone which is analyzed by scientists too.
