Let’s start building the game by setting up an AWS Lambda function. If you already have an account, click on Sign In to the Console in the top right corner of the page to get started.
If you are a new user, you’ll see a different link, Create an AWS Account, instead. Click on the link, and follow the instructions on the page to register for a free tier account.
Once you’ve completed the registration and signed in to the AWS Console, you can activate Lambda for your account.
First, check the top-right corner of the page to verify that you are using the US East (N. Virginia) region.
Then, in the list of services, select Lambda:
As in the picture:
Click next without selecting blueprint:
Add Alexa skill it as trigger:
Add name and description to the lambda and runtime nodes 4.3:
Choose Lambda basic execution as role and click next:
Review the function and click create function:
Add the JavaScript Code below, Copy the Arn from the top right corner of the screen and click save now we are ready to go developer console and create our skill. Sign in and choose Alexa:
Then select add new skill. Here we add name and invocation name to the skill:
Then click interaction model and enter intent scheme and sample utterance provided and also add slot of type LIST_OF_ANSWERS and value:
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
You should see screen like this now. Add the ARN we copied earlier and click no the click next:
We can test the function by entering "Alexa new game" and you should see response with random question. Now add publishing info including description and icons:
Finally we setup privacy and accept export compliance and we are ready to submit for certification:
