I happen to have some time for personal projects at work. I figure I can't take much bench into the office, but a nice neat kit might fit the bill. I can be one of those people who saves things waiting for just the right project. I bought a set of three of these boxes awhile back. I used one of them and the other two have sat there.
So while stewing at work the past couple of days as to how to get some real work done instead of random busy work, I had my eureka moment that night. It took some digging for those darn boxes, but I tracked one down.
I have been working on my weather station project at home. I can code at work, but it makes it hard to run and troubleshoot. Now I have put together a small kit from a road box for myself. But hey, if you have similar box laying about, time to put it to use and work on your project anytime when you have that ah-ha moment.
What to takeI was in luck in not only finding the box, but I also got in my box of parts from the slow boat from China (and this one was slow) so I had a couple of new items to choose from.
I am working on my weather station, so I added some items I will need for it. You can see the BOM listing for what I stuck in it for its first trip out. And I snuck in an ATtiny85. It will be used as the remote station if you will sending data back.
ResultsI must say it has worked out really well so far. I can stash it in my backpack, and at 3x5x1.5, it doesn't take up much space. Well, time to get back to work with the wireless modules.
