Well this movie says it all:

How did you think of that

Your kids also break too many toys, never mind, but look at that tiny little picture inside this plastic lense, maybe from a watch or a camera toy.

So what can be done with that? Hey, that's Elsa and Anna, right? The girl loves them. But is it Anna or Elsa, never mind that now...

How it's made

Just get some simple LEDs and resistors:

Choose a resistor value depending on the amount of light you want, say for a 5v power choosing 100 ohms will give a current of about 1/2*5v/100=25mA.

My kids want this light projector on all night long, so better take a power-bank as a battery, will hold for plenty of time:

Look at this light, now just add that little picture and some kind of lense and you're done...

And a big Elsa is projected on the wall or ceiling or where ever the kids want:
