Hi.
I love Rapsberry Pi computer series. I used them at many projects. It makes everything so easy for me.
This project will be open source project. Codes can be reached on Github, Pcb will be ordered or downloadable from PCBWAY website.
With this project; tracking locations, getting photos, communicate with can-bus line (like vehicles, sensors and something etc) and receive and send data over RF module will be possible.
Beacuse of the limitations of power consumption and battery capacity, I've chosen RPi Zero W for this project. This project is GPS supported but it will be subject to an other article.
RPi will be powered from a lipo battery. So I need to charge it and should have a step up converter for getting 5 volts from lipo voltage (approx 3.5 to 4.2 volts). I used LMR62014 also AP302 can be used, too.
RF transceiver chip is HM-TRP-433. It is 100mW output power. It communicates at 9600bps. So slow but I tested it 2.25km at line of sight. It is succeeded.
There are five buttons, buzzer and 4 user LEDs. A Grove I2C connector and a Grove GPIO connector for any sensor or display solutions.
I made some mistakes while designing pcb. I revisied the second version of PCB. After I finished the assembly of pcb, I will share it at PCBWAY shared Projects. Pcb can be ordered or downloaded from PCBWAY website.
At this point I want to thanks to PCBWAY for supporting this project.
Here is the assembly videos of this project. It is Turkish.
Some photos of project.
Codes will be published on Github and including pcb gerber files and part list PCBWAY Shared Project links will be added later.
