In tropical countries like India it is very difficult to predict the weather conditions due to its vast variation within a shorter time interval. The atmospheric data networking is also not sufficient to give information on atmospheric parameters. In order to overcome this, a network of weather stations are required to install in a pattern of locations and real-time data should be updated in web server, which should be available for all the Researchers, Scientists, Meteorologist to carryout the analysis and estimation. An early warning with the predicted data to public will be alerted to avoid great loss and damage. Now, the real problem is that the weather stations are poor in number to estimate the weather activities in time and their impacts. If their is an IoT device so that the data can be transferred to a network cloud and can perform the AI analysis to predict the weather conditions it will be helpful.
Design Necessity:
IoT Smart meteorology device using SmartEdge Agile with Brainium portal was designed which can transfer the real-time Environmental sensors data to the remote devices and interlink to the cloud network so that it can be distribute to the scientist community for weather prediction and forecasting. In present days it is important to predict the data to protect away from the natural disasters. It will be an Artificial Intelligence Eye to monitor the atmospheric parameters. SmartEdge Agile device was fitted in a location for networking data collection because it is the best suitable IoT device in my opinion with all the necessary on-board facilities. The device is having a real time data visualization with Brainium widgets and ready to use cloud API for customization. The existing systems are not that much flexible as this SmartEdge Agile kit because it has Bluetooth connectivity for remote monitoring and can connect to the API cloud for global visualization of data.
Design Methodology:IoT Smart meteorology device designed with SmartEdge Agile has on-board sensors and their importance in the current project is specified as follows:
Temperature Sensor: The temperature of the air is measured to know the maximum and minimum temperature during the daytime and nighttime hours. It helps to study the convection, air circulations, daily,seasonal, annual variations, etc.
Humidity: Humidity is the important parameter to be monitor to measure the available water content in the atmosphere. Its measurements gives the idea on convection activity and moisture content in the air.
Barometric Pressure: Atmospheric pressure of the location is measured during the cyclonic activities, convection because, this may vary significantly which will act as a warning indicator when it goes below or above the surface threshold level.
Visible light Sensor: The intensity of light can be measured for the solar energy budget estimation and to calculate the efficiency of solar cell. The light spectrum gives the trace components likeH20, CO, NO, O2, etc percentage which are the cause for spectral absorption from sun.
BLE 5.0: The data can be transfer to the near by data center because Bluetooth is highly secured and one-to-one communication. Li-po battery for rechargeable, Water, dust resistance protective case are giving a good IoT device for the proposed design.
Step-by step process:
Initially connect the SamrtEdge Agile kit to the Smartphone and open the portal and check the connection as shown in below figure 1.
Add the widgets to the project to visualized the data in real time as shown in figure 2.
Start tracking the sensor as shown in figure 3. to read the data and record them for future assistance and Analysis
Data visualization on the project dashboard is shown in figure 4.
Store the data in cloud or download them for analysis is shown in figure 5.

Conclusion:
IoT Smart meteorology device can be useful for the researchers, scientists to estimated about the winds, temperatures, pressures, humidity, vibrations, etc. This kit can be helpful for the young scientists in schools, colleges to study about the weather and climate change in their localities so that from the younger stage they can analysis the impacts of the natural disasters. It also creates awareness to them how to protect and save the globe. In my opinion as a well experienced in IoT devices this kit is having all the necessary sensors and features on a single board to design the IoT Smart meteorology device for weather forecasting. This kit is also useful for environment parameters measurements in agriculture, horticulture, industrial,in-door halls, warehouses etc.
