Kitchen Timer

Purpose

This device has the look & feel as if it was used in an action movie. It wont explode at 00:00 however, it just beeps 3 times. I used it when I cook rice (eg. requires 12 minutes), or make pre-baked pizza, etc.

How it works

• Turn on the device
• Set the timer (in minutes) using the micro switches on the right side. If you leave the buttons untouched for 3 seconds, it starts counting back.
• When countdown reaches 00:00, it beeps 3 seconds.
• Switch off the device in order to save batter.

How it is built

The display is a TM1637 4-digit 7 segment display, connected to an ESP32 microcontroller. There is a main switch that connects ESP32 to power supply (9V battery connected to 5V voltage regulator), and 2 micro switches (minute up and down) that are used to set the timer.

I glued 3 magnets to the back of the device (inside the cover), so that it can be mounted on the fridge.
