The new chip, the W55RP20, ended up saying it was best suited for Serial to Ethernet applications.
WIZnet also released a new Serial to Ethernet product developed with W55RP20.
As the name suggests, it is an RS-232 to Ethernet product.
WIZnet always released products in the form of PCB modules, but this time, it released products in the form of metal cases.
Of course, everyone knows that there are a lot of RS-232 to Ethernet products on the market. It's because it's used a lot in the industry. I think the reason why WIZnet released such a product is because of its unique strength.

Let's take a closer look at what launched this product.

It's a shame that there's no LED on the front, but I think we've adopted a way of inserting it like a book because of the efficiency of the space.
I think the size is normal. It's the size of typical converter modules.
Pinout is also a common RS-232 standard.
There's also an option for PoE. They say you can add PoE functionality at a low price.
It is said to support AT command mode. After removing the case, turn on the AT command switch and it will work. The AT command is well specified on the homepage.
In addition to this switch, the Boot Switch and Factory Initialization Switch are included inside.
Looking at the board, the RS-232 is completely insulated. It seems to have used an insulated DCDC and an insulated RS-232 transceiver. This can be a great strength. Unlike the RS-485 module, there are not many insulation models of RS-232 on the market.
And I'll cancel what I said at first that the size of the module is normal.
It's an isolation type, but I don't think it's easy to get this size. Plus, it's amazing that PoE support is possible.

Modbus support and MQTT are available by default. What's interesting is that you can control the module with the Web-Server. I think it's very convenient. It is also noticeable that the input voltage range is very wide. And it's not written here, but PoE can be applied as an option, so this will also be effective.
The price is said to be 39.5 dollars. If I replace the RS-232 modules currently used in my factory, I would like to try this product.
