I have created what I like to call a "synth harmonizer, " that plays a frequency when turned on by using the toggle switch. Once the frequency is playing, the potentiometer may be used to adjust the pitch up and down. Once a pitch has been established, the user may then push the button in the middle, playing a middle C, effectively creating a harmony with the initial frequency. The middle C will only play while the button is pushed down, letting the user choose between a single note and a harmony with ease.
When I was assigned this project, I knew I wanted to make a synthesizer, but I wanted to add another layer to that. I found the answer in the button that produces the middle C for harmonies. This not only seemed like a good feature to add onto the synth, but seemed like a practical addition. The sound produced by the synth is unique and would make a nice addition to something such as a video game that may be aiming for a more retro feel. I could actually see myself using this tool for production purposes in the future.
