Story

On Aug 19th, 2024 the Avnet RASynBoard received AWS IoT Core certification and is now listed in the AWS certified device catalog.

Why should you care?

Avnet has done the work to certify the RASynBoard so that development teams can have confidence that when they build AWS connected products that the new product can easily receive the same certification. This helps engineering teams go to market faster with new products.

AWS IoT Core

AWS IoT Core is a fully managed cloud service for IoT devices and teams. It enables organizations to connect, control, and deploy fleets of devices while AWS manages all the back-end servers and services that are required to establish and maintain secure MQTT data connections. Additionally, AWS IoT Core is data path for IoT device to get data from your connected product into the AWS infrastructure. Once your data is connected additional AWS services like databases and connectors to other industry-specific software can be leveraged to build and grow your business.

Avnet's IoT Connect on AWS

The RASynBoard out of box application that was used for the AWS IoT Core certification is also leveraged to connect to Avnet's IoT Connect on AWS cloud solution. The advantages of using IoT Connect is that Avnet has developed a front end to help you manage your IoT Devices throughout the entire device lifecycle. Additionally on-line dashboards are easily created show device status in near real-time.

RASynBoard Out of Box Application

We've developed that RASynBoard Out of Box application to give development teams a head start on developing ML at the Edge connected solutions. The application is managed through a configuration file located on the RASynBoard's microSD card. You can connect your device to AWS IoT Core or Avnet's IoT Connect on AWS with just configuration changes. You don't need to install development tools or build the application.
