What?
Two Cyclophones are mounted on treadmills expecting cyclists energy, for a ride through images, sounds and texts. Arranged side by side and equipped with sensors embedded in the wheels as well as on the brake/gear levers, the Cyclophones reveal sound sequences with which you can create your own remix. You also get to control circular kinetic animations or poetic subliminal forms drawn by the lights incorporated within wheels (using persistence of vision). A "ride" in the media to perform at your own pace or as a duo, more details can be found here:

How?
We used a Teensy (Arduino) to send MIDI signals to control sounds and video depending on the speed of the bikes.
The speed is estimated thanks to a dynamo connected to a diode bridge, because of its AC signal, and voltage divider, to convert the maximum of 25V to the 5V max expected in the Teensy.
Who ?
Jimmy & Drix, with the video master Hélène Ruiz and the original Cyclophone maker Santiago Guerrero.
