Controller Amplifier by Drone Evolutions

Introduction

This is a pretty awesome kit put together by Jake Jones over at Drone Evolutions that adds two 2.5W amplifiers and a battery pack to Solo controller to provide a very robust link to Solo. I'm sure many of us have thought about doing this, but he did it and made a great 3D printed mount for it all!

1. Install Lanyard Clip

Attach the lanyard clip to the controller by clipping it onto the smartphone holder. 

2. Attach Amp and Battery Pack

Connect the amp and battery pack kit to the lanyard mount by putting the two screws through the holes on the back of the lanyard clip. Use the wing nuts to fasten in place.

3. Connect Controller to Amps

Remove the antennas from the Solo controller and use the coax jumper cables to connect the controller to the amplifiers. Make sure the jumper cables are in the right orientation, there is a male & female side which can be seen by looking inside the connector. 

Add Antennas and Go!

Install the new, higher gain antennas to the amplifiers, plug the battery pack into the amplifier and you are ready to go! Make sure to charge the battery before using and turn on the small power switch on the side of the battery to power the amps. Remember not to fly out of line of sight!
