This circuit combines an ESP32, RA-02 LoRa module, and a USB output to create a compact IoT solution. No CH340 or similar USB-UART IC is used, keeping the board smaller and cleaner. Initial firmware uploading is done via an ESP32 DevKit, after which OTA updates are supported wirelessly.
In the power management section, a buck converter is used to step down from 5V to 3.3V. Proper bypass capacitors and signal routing for the LoRa module are included.
Use cases:
- Minimal and portable LoRa + Wi-Fi applications
- OTA updatable embedded systems
- USB powered microcontroller projects
