What is Orienta-Zero?Orienta-Zero is a high-performance, multi-purpose IMU designed for applications like motion capture, VR, robotics, drones, and industrial automation. It combines precision inertial sensing, powerful processing, and versatile connectivity in a popular form factor, making it easy to integrate into existing projects. Why Did I Create Orienta-Zero?Existing IMU solutions often have trade-offs:Too slow for real-time applications.
Limited connectivity, making data transfer difficult.
Lack of standalone logging, requiring a constant connection to a host.
Difficult to integrate, especially with indie open source systems.
Orienta-Zero was built to solve these issues by providing high-speed processing (STM32H743VIT6 @ 480 MHz), low-latency wireless (Nrf54L15 Bluetooth), and standalone data logging (microSD storage)—all in a compact popular form factor.
How Does It Work?Sensor Data Collection: The BMI088 (6-axis IMU) and MMC5983MA (3-axis magnetometer) continuously measure acceleration, angular velocity, and magnetic field data.
Real-Time Processing: The STM32H743VIT6 MCU runs sensor fusion algorithms to provide clean, high-accuracy motion data.
Data Transmission & Storage: Data is sent via Bluetooth, USB, or serial communication for real-time applications. For standalone operation, data is logged to a microSD card and later accessed via USB.
Orienta-Zero delivers fast, accurate, and reliable motion tracking, making it a powerful tool for researchers, developers, and engineers in robotics, biomechanics, and beyond.
