When I bought my new car, at the beginning of the year, the car salesman told me that car kit costs about 1000$, excluding front, rear camera and etc.
At this moment I made the car kit: my Raspberry Pi 2 connects to the phone via Bluetooth, plays music from a specific folder and if someone calls me (I already put automatic answer on Bluetooth), I make a phone call.
At this moment I have some issues to solve:
- Raspberry Pi does not have microphone input. I have to use the phone microphone, so the phone cannot be in my pocket during the call.
- Putting a front camera.
These issues I will solve soon, but my future projects are:
- Integrating a 4.5’’ display with touch-pad to manage navigation and Pi.
- To put in a rear camera and, when the rear light switches on, to show the picture on display.
- To make automatic lights on my car by sensing the lightness and darkness of the front camera.
- To integrate in the car all the cables and Pi somewhere.
The main problem is that my car has warranty and I cannot make any changes to electricity installation.
It is an open project. Everyone can join it.
