Based on the former Idea Remote-Room-Radar meanwhile a PCB has been developed that allows the evaluation of several Infineon sensors. The focus topic is to observe room occupancy (Radar), communicate the status wireless (Bluetooth), and show it e.g. outside at the entrance door (Display).
This project gives the opportunity for embedded 'beginners' to 'play around' with Infineon microcontroller & Infineon sensors, graphics and Bluetooth.
ElectronicsDepending on the assembly variant the developed PCB can be used for two purposes:
In-Room occupancy detection
- PSoC6BLE microcontroller for sensor fusion and communication
- XENSIV™ 60GHz radar MMICs (several types are enabled by assembly options)
- Addition/Optional sensors:
- XENSIV™ DPS368 Pressure & Temperature sensor
- XENSIV™ PAS CO2
- XENSIV™ MEMS microphone
Out-Room Display
- PSoC6BLE microcontroller for communication and control
- XENSIV™ 60GHz radar MMICs (several types are enabled by assembly options)
- Display (TFT 480x320 or ePaper 400x300)
- Optional: 6x CAPSENSE buttons
Just the upper part of the PCB needs to be used for the In-Room occupancy observation
while the complete PCB with reduced assembly variant is used for the Out-Room display
The software is developed using Infineon's free-of-charge ModusToolbox
MechanicsTwo cases have been designed using FreeCAD to be used for the In-Room or Out-Room variant. Please feel free to adapt it to your use cases .
Getting started & DemonstrationLet's have a look how it works ...
SummaryWho ever is interested the PCB can be ordered via Aisler.net
Although the system has been developed for a dedicated use case to observe room occupancy it may be used by the implemented features very flexible for much more applications as well.
