in most communities in developing countries such as Accra in Ghana, the best cost effective measure taken against the spread of corona-virus in meeting areas is the use of DIY hand-wash dispensers. however, since the dispensers and soap has to be touched to be used there is a risk of transmission as more than 1000 use these equipment per day.
my project provides a cheap way of making an automated dispenser using foot pedals commonly found in waste-bins. both the soap and water can accessed separately by stepping on the foot pedals.
this project prevents contact during hand-wash hence preventing transmission. it is also cheaper than the existing sensor automated dispenser, hence it can be used in rural developing communities which cannot afford other advanced automation.
