All lovers, fiancés and happy divorcees will find here a beginner kit to be soldered, which will make a heart flash on a 8x8 matrix after 6 steps have been completed and can therefore be worn on a necklace.
More than a hot soldering iron and solder is not necessary to follow the simple, illustrated instructions in English or Chinese. Even the program code is already installed on the IC, so it works immediately.
But one preliminary: the mobile use is not possible with my kit in the battery operation LR2032, but only via USB cable.
So my mobile use is very limited. I will activate the support of Seeed Studio or contact a printed e-mail on the manual.
Here the kit and the 6 steps documented in order:
I'm currently hanging on the limitation in battery-powered mode. Several LR2032 tested without success.
Otherwise, a small help for the matrix: just do not solder to the two 8 header PINs, otherwise you can not replace the battery. For this, the matrix is to be removed.
To align the matrix, note the imprinted "1" on the PCB on one of the 8 PIN rows and look for the side imprint of the matrix number 1588BS. This is combined with each other. If the alignment does not fit right away: just turn it otherwise the ad will show wild characters ;-)
By pressing the button another mode can be activated after 2 seconds: the heart will flash faster.
In sum: creative and emotional idea, but I would like some help in these points:
- where is the source code for inspection? The printed on the back link is no longer active in the meantime (http://loovee.github.io/Square8) - it is here to find: https://github.com/Litchee/Square8
- why are there 2x VCC, GND (of which only one pair is powered)?
- What can I do with the other ports D5, 12, 13, A1, A2 and A3?
- Are the 3 undocumented PINs of the 8-pin PIN bar serial ports? it is a reset option
Addressed to you lover: take your partner by the hand and you will then already notice if your heart is pounding.
Update 20.07.2019
With a 9V battery I stabilized the voltage and soldered to VNC / GND on the outer rings. Bears up a bit, but that's how mobility is possible. 2 button cells in a parallel circuit had not been successful.
