A custom made controller for Guitar Hero that uses a flashlight to strum. It has 5 buttons on the top that correspond with the respective notes on the screen. From left to right: Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange
How it was made:I started with a box and cut a small hole in the side of it that would be used for the light from the flashlight to pass through. Then I made 5 holes in the top of the box that I fed some cut alligator clips through. I taped the exposed wires to some dimes to have a secure connection and then taped them down to keep them in place. Lastly I positioned the CPX's light sensor in front of the hole and secured it in place.
The hole on the side of the box is pointed at the light sensor of the Circuit Playground Express within the box. When the light sensor detects a bright light it triggers the strum button, which is done by passing a flashlight over the hole. The five coins on top of the box are touch sensors that trigger the different notes in the game as you touch them.
