This is my build of a project called Taser by S3rialMak3r. It uses a 40kV boost module that was purchased on eBay for around $5.

SchematicThe circuit is about as simple as its gets. The boost module does all the work. It just needs to be powered from a 3.7V Li-on battery.
Use a 0.2mm layer height when 3D printing the case. The STL files have been attached.
Drill out the push button switch hole to match the diameter of the push switch you are using.
The contacts are single male straight pin headers. Trim the plastic on the pin header so it snuggly fits the hole and use super glue to hold it in place. Solder the high voltage wires from the boost module to the pins.
The 1 ohm 2W resistor is soldered in series with the switch and covered with a piece of heat-shrink.
Wire up the battery and switches according to the wiring diagram above.
Once wired, add the top and secure in place with a couple of small screws.
