Building this was dead simple. I twist tied a LIFX Z strip to the back of my wreath. I created and published the 'Magic Wreath' app so that anyone can display cool circular colored light effects around their wreath (or any other doughnut or disk shaped object for that matter.)
The app allows you to deactivate some zones, so overlap is no problem! It creates the number of 'trails' you specify, with each trail beginning at 100% brightness and ramping down to 0 behind it. Configure the parameters of the animation to make it slow or fast, cycling or static, rainbow or solid color.
