For the core module of this design, the single chip is the core unit of the design, so the system is also the application of the single-chip application system. The MCU application system is also composed of hardware and software. The hardware includes a system consisting of a single-chip microcomputer, an input/output device, and a peripheral application circuit, which is a general term for various work programs. The system uses STC89C52 microcontroller as the core control unit. The STC89C52 is one of the most widely used STC series microcontrollers. Principle block diagram of ultrasonic rangingThe most commonly used method of ultrasonic ranging is the echo detection method. The ultrasonic transmitter emits ultrasonic waves in a certain direction. At the same time of the transmit time, the timer starts to timing, and the ultrasonic waves propagate in the air, the obstacles are immediately reflected back when they hit the obstacle surface. The ultrasonic receiver stops timing immediately upon receiving the reflected ultrasonic waves. The propagation speed of the ultrasonic wave in the air is 340 m/s. According to the time t recorded by the timer, the distance s of the emission point from the obstacle surface can be calculated, that is, s=340t/2. Since the ultrasonic wave is also a kind of sound wave, its sound velocity V is related to temperature. In use, if the temperature of the propagation medium does not change a lot, it can be approximated that the ultrasonic velocity is substantially constant during the propagation.
Components List of the nice and useful kit
1. Check that components are complete firstly. According to the circuit diagram and the identifier on the board, solder the color ring resistors (R1, R2, R3, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R4, R6, R7, R5, R15, R13). The resistor has no polarity. As shown below,
The solder joints are like smooth hills with a solder height of 0.5-1mm would be good. Please don't cold solder or fake solder.
2. Let's solder the components (Y1, C2, C3, C1)which are under installed IC socket firstly. Please remember the electrolytic capacitor(C1)has polarity, the short pin should be put in the grey area, which shows at below,
In order to be cleverly mounted under the chip base, place the capacitor at the appropriate height.
3. Install the IC socket, pay attention the direction of it, as shown below,
4. Then I am gonna to solder the buttons, switch and the DC socket. Very easy to solder.
5. Don't forget to solder the transistors, please pay attention to its direction, as shown below,
6. Then install the buzzer :)
7. Solder the red LED. The long pin should be put in the mark"+" on the PCB.
8. Now, I will put the nixie tube, look at the direction,
9. Install the ultrasonic module here,
10, Almost done! Take out the IC chip, if you find the joints are not perfect to put into the IC socket, please gently press to sort out like this,
11. Done!
12. Let's try it out:) Two options for us,
1> Power it with battery, connect the red and black wire on the board as showns below,
2> 5V DC power supply
According to the temperature and humidity at the time and the flatness of the tested object, the distance displayed by the module will have a certain error, but this module not only practice our soldering ability, but also actually use it after finishing.
