A few months ago, while I was walking home I saw a smart parking, looking similar to a ferris wheel. There were a few plates that cars could be parked in.
Where I live is located in a dry region. We are really going to face serious problems due to lack of water resources in near future. With this concerns in mind and finding this parking an idea came into my mind.
I'm planning on making a vertical farm like the smart parking shown in the above picture but in small sizes which can be used in every kitchen or yard. This vertical farm is indeed a smart machine which will take care of plants and vegetables until they grow enough to be used. This vertical farm is made of a spinning wheel with some plates mounted on it. It's completely modular you can add or remove your plants easily. The Vertical Farming Machine has a light source and a pipe that can feed the plants. It can be paired with your smartphone and you can schedule different planting options for each plate. The water in this machine is reused so a lot of water will be saved, and the good thing about it is you always have access to fresh and healthy vegetables at your home, not matter what time it is.
A good range of sensors and actuators is used in this machine like soil moisture sensor, temperature sensor, water pumps, stepper motors and light and heat emitting sources. I can use the Arduino 101 board as the controller unit for this farming machine, which will handle the controlling of the machine and providing connection to smartphone through Bluetooth.
