This object is a satirical take on the issue of video games making people, especially children, more angry and violent. This is an issue that despite being proven to not be true, is still argued to this day. So what this object does is bring a way for people to be aware when they are getting out of control and alarm then in hopes of calming them down.
This box has the message "Stay Calm" engraved into a small box. The circuit playground express is used as a light inside the box and can detect sounds using the built in sensors on the board. It also has a switch built in the back so it can be turned on and off. When the box is turned on and it detects noise, it will light up green if it is at an acceptable level. But once the noise level gets too loud, it will blare an alarm sound and start flashing red. Once the noise goes back to a decent level, the alarm will stop and the light will go back to being green.
The first thing to do is to grab a small box (I used a 6" x 6" x 6" box) and using a pen, write the words stay calm on the box.
Then, using an exacto knife, cut the letters out so that you can see inside the box.
Then, using the playground express with the battery and hooked up to the board, place in the bottom of the box, if you want you can tape it to the bottom like I did by putting a piece of double-sided tape on the bottom of the board.
Lastly, cut a small part in the back of the box in order for the switch to go through that way you can turn it on and off.
The final step is to close up the box and turn it on and you have your device ready to go.
