In Science andEngineering laboratories their are various types of equipment, machinery,motors, systems and tools to train the students about their usefulness andapplications. To test the systems functionality students need a handy tools tomeasure the various types of parameters like temperature, humidity, vibrations,noise, orientation and motion to calculate the performance. Students need muchexposure to understand the system failures and their performance. An advancedand handheld device measuring vibrations, motion, orientation, direction,visibility, temperature, humidity is required for the students to check thesystems functionality.
SmartEdge Agile has 3Daccelerometers, 3D gyroscope, 3D magnetometer, pressure, humidity &temperature, microphone, ambient light and proximity sensors on a singleplatform so, I would like to build a handheld device for students to monitorthe performance of the systems and machinery. Existing device are not havingall the necessary sensors on a single platform. On my experience I had neverviewed device having salient features as the SmartEdge Agile by including BLE5.0 with nine sensors, real time data visualization with Brainium widgets,ready to use cloud API for customization, AI at the Edge with zero codingapproach and Security. This device is useful to monitor the motion andvibrations of the systems using ACCELEROMETER. GYROSCOPE is used to monitor theorientation of the arm, levers, rotating parts, MAGNETOMETER to fix the partsin the machinery to a particular direction, HUMIDITY and TEMPERATURE to findthe environment suitability to avoid moisture, contamination, corrosion, etc,AMBIENT LIGHT sensor to monitor air quality if the light receiving is poor thendust particles are suspended in air, MICROPHONE to measure the noise level inthe sound made by the machinery parts. As the sensors in SmartEdge Agile hasuseful functionality so the device has much importance to the students toperform the experiments in their laboratory systems.
SmartEdge Agile has 3Daccelerometers, 3D gyroscope, 3D magnetometer, pressure, humidity &temperature, microphone, ambient light and proximity sensors these can be usedfor various aspects to monitor in the laboratory devices. The usage of sensorsin the SmartEdge Agile are elaborated in the below list: 3D accelerometers: Thevibrations or acceleration of the new system will be systematic if they getwear and tears then they will make vibrations and noise. The vibrations made mythe machinery parts can be monitored using accelerometer sensor in 3 AXIS tofigure out the faults. 3D gyroscope: The orientation of the parts when they aremoving gives the exactness in fitting if the orientation is varying time totime, it will be a great fault so that system can fail. So the gyroscopic viewis important to analysis the system performance. 3D magnetometer: The systemparts will be moving in different directions, if their angle of deviation ischanged then they will be affecting the entire system. The direction movementis monitored using the magnetometer sensor. Pressure: The pressure inside thechamber where the chemical samples are processing can be monitor. Some of thereaction release energy so that their will be pressure effecting inside thechamber and the reaction is completely processed can be identified. Humidity& Temperature: The incubation chamber has to maintain sufficienttemperature and humidity to get useful yields. In laboratory we need to monitorfor 2-4 hours depending on the process it takes long time to collect data.SmartEdge Agile has wireless widgets to monitor temperature and humidity.Microphone: The noise level of the machinery are measured using the microphoneto estimate the intensity and frequency generated by the fault parts. Thesensor is helpful to estimate the loud noises and harmful frequencies. Ambientlight Sensor: The chemical process is expose to light radiation to make thereaction rate effective so their is a need to choose a particular energy sourcethis can be done by varying the slit diameter and adding filters. Ambient lightsensor can be used to check the light intensity at which the chemical isexposed. Proximity sensors: It sense human movement. when their is humaninvolvement it sense and inform how many times the process had checked by thestudents in a day or hour. The Sensors in SmartEdge Agile has a greatimportance to monitor the lab systems and learn the behavior and performance.It will for technicians, engineers, researches in various companies andcolleges. It will be good opportunity for me so showcase the importance of thedevice in laboratory and can advance the lab in my college. If the devices aresmart enough then students like me can learn more and gain knowledge on thetopics. It will be a great wonder to my class friends if I am making such a deviceto monitor the machinery and lab environment.
