Hello dear makers,
I am Cansu. I am one of the member of PicoBricks Project team. As a member of our R&D team, I'd like to share with you a recent project we've undertaken using our Picobricks for Micro:Bit board.
Picobricks for the Micro:Bit board has an open and modular structure suitable for users of all levels. It provides quick start projects for beginners and makes it easy for experienced makers to teach algorithms to your children.
The project I want to share with you this time is the "Color Detection Project, " realized with the incredible Gesture sensor embedded in our board. In this project, we utilize the Gesture sensor to detect colors of objects in front of the board and display them through the RGB LED module.
🌈 Color Cards Project:Using the Gesture sensor on your Micro:Bit board, you can detect the colors of objects in your surroundings. This sensor produces three separate numerical outputs: R (RED), G (Green), and B (BLUE), which combine to create a single color value. In this project, colors of created items, such as colored cardboard or A4 paper, can be detected, and the three LEDs on the Micro:Bit board will light up in the same color.
How to Do It:1. Prepare cards in different colors using colored cardboard or A4 paper.2. Use the Gesture sensor to detect the colors of the cards.3. Apply the obtained R, G, and B values to the RGB LED module to match the colors of the cards.4. Observe the matched colors on the RGB LEDs on your Micro:Bit board.
🚀 Tips to Develop Your ProjectColorful Patterns and Effects: Use different color combinations and patterns with your color cards to create more complex and eye-catching effects with the RGB LEDs.Experiment with Objects: Don't limit the color detection project to just cards. Try detecting the colors of various objects in your surroundings to make your project more diverse.Interaction with Bluetooth: Utilize the Bluetooth feature of your Micro:Bit board to transmit color detection results to other devices or integrate commands from these devices into your project.
We are continuously improving our projects with your support. Thank you for your interest and support for our Picobricks for Micro:Bit board. We are excited to work on many more creative projects together!
