Voice controlled Pet Feeder using Amazon Echo Dot

Here's Why:

Inspired by the pet feeder project on Bolt Iot , i decided to design this project so that i can feed my pet by controlling my pet feeder via Amazon Echo, while am working on some other task.

With what all:

This project uses Amazon Echo Dot, Bolt IOT platform (bolt wifi module, boltduino, bolt cloud) and IFTTT -Your 3 simple steps to a voice controlled pet feeder.

Here's How:

First, follow hardware instructions for making a pet feeder as given in the blog

Secondly, connect your Amazon Echo Dot to any of your account (gmail etc.)

Now,

1. open https://ifttt.com/create and click on “ +This”

2. Choose Amazon Alexa -> Say Specific Phrase

Note: here connect IFTTT to the same account you used to sign in to Amazon Echo Dot

3. Type the phrase you want to trigger the action and click on 'Create Trigger’

4. Enter the API URL you got in the previous Step. Make sure that you change the API Key and device name.

5. Method will be GET and Content type will be Application/json

Click on 'Create Action'

Note: Your phrase will be appended by “Trigger”. Don’t remove it.

6. Now click on ‘Finish’

That’s it ...Now switch on the pet feeder and your Amazon Echo Dot and say the phrase to send the request from Echo -> IFTTT -> bolt cloud -> the bolt device, and give your pet a treat.
