Project Overview
Read moreThis project (DEV001_A) was a test project to get my KiCad 9.0 install setup and I decided to make a couple modifications while I was at it.
- I have not built the board myself but it should be 100% functional with any code that can run on the original Arduino Uno R3.
- Shields for the original Arduino Uno R3 willnot plug in since the expansion connectors have changed.
- Changed to a 4 layer PCB design (Sig, GND, Power, Sig).
- Changed the Atmega328 MCU to the TQFP package type.
- Changed expansion headers to dual row and made them specific to each of the MCUs (atmega16 and atmega328) to break out all of the unused pins and add in extra power (VIN, 5V, 3V3, and GND) connections. Shieldswillnotwork.
- Changed ICSP headers to keyed connectors in the hopes that it makes using ribbon cables easier.
- Changed expansion header silkscreen to be more representative of the actual MCUs pins.
- Designed in KiCad 9.0.
- Complete project files have been generated and are attached.
- Gerbers - the DEV001/Gerber/DEV001-A zip file can be uploaded to OSHPark for PCBs.
- BOM - The DEV001/BOM directory contains a completed list of the parts. Everything is hand solderable with some patience and skill.
