My project is all about complete water management system and great user experience. Typically in India, big apartments have central water storage which has input from government agencies like corporation or water department etc.
Then from this central storage water is distributed to various sub tanks which is controlled manually by people. Here they have lot of dependencies and always lead to dissatisfaction.
My solution is to automate all the activities. First all the tanks will have water level indicators. They will keep sending level parameters to the xbee which will communicate to central raspberry pi. Raspberry pi will have GPRS modem which will send all the data to cloud. Cloud will have analytics and business rule engine and depending upon rule it will decide to start/stop water supply to sub-storage or send notification. And also how much water needs to be filled in. This will happen real time and user will have access to this info on web or mobile devices using web services.
Hence whenever there is water issue, user will first check online status and then will think of contacting to respected manager if issue is other than water availability.
This will reduce manual intervention of water storage and communicating to users. This will also save water and optimum usage of water. It will also publish which wing of apartment is utilizing more water and which is less. Based on this supply can be optimized. This will also help to define quota management to each wing.
