What do we do?

FARMBOX is a real turn-key smart farm solution to help farmers unlock the new agri-tech era. our solution is applied for home, greenhouse, mushroom, outdoor hydroponic and indoor hydroponic.

Not the same as the other IoT startups for agriculture. We don't spend so much time and money (we don't have them) into developing the sensor and controller for farming. Our solution work like Google Home ecosystem. On one hand, we focus on the building a smart gateway (Sense Hub Gateway), which works with the smart gadgets on the market such as smart plug, smart remote, smart sensor and others. They come from the internal partners or the famous suppliers. On the other hand, we develop the services to help farmers manage and monitor their farms on a single mobile application. It's called is FARMBOX. FARMBOX works on Android and iOS device.

By this way, we can save so much money and time for R&D. And now we have a full ecosystem for agriculture. It's suitable for many purpose such as home garden, greenhouse, mushroom, outdoor hydroponic and indoor hydroponic.

We want to focus on delivering innovative products that can have a positive effect on the quality of life for all farmers, their families and the rural communities.

How does it work?

Sense Hub Gateway is an important bridge between farm and end user. It's a wireless device to help collect data from the wireless sensors, which are installed on the farm such as light, air temperature, air humidity, soil humidity, soil nutrient, water pH, water EC ... The data is sent to our server by WiFi connection. On the server, the data is aggregated and also combined with the plant profile data to make decision turn on, turn off or control the devices on the farm such as lamp, water pump, misting pump, fan and air conditioner by automatically. The output from aggregation is sent to Sense Hub Gateway by MQTT to control the local devices on the farm.

About the services, we are used Google Cloud services to developing them:

1. Google App Engine for developing API.

2. Google Cloud Datastore for storing data.

3. Google PubSub + IoT Core for MQTT/MQTTS connection.

4. Google Photos for storing images;

About the agricultural technique, we cooperate with the agricultural universities and institutes to build a profile data for plants in Vietnam.

Farmers use a FARMBOX app on mobile device to monitor and control their farm.

Our video was recorded in a shipping container. It's a complete hydroponic growing system built entirely inside a shipping container with all the components needed for commercial food production. We applied the FARMBOX for indoor hydroponic solution into this project.
