PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation Kit comes pre-programmed with streaming firmware that can stream sensor data from the USB port into DEEPCRAFT™ Studio for machine learning model creation. The streaming firmware is designed to collect data from all the sensors integrated into the kit, including the microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, pressure sensor, radar.
PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation kits manufactured before February, 2025 are utilizing the old streaming firmware (implemented using protocol version 1), see the manufacturing date printed at the back of your kit box. Infineon has developed a new streaming firmware that uses Tensor Streaming Protocol Version 2, offering improved functionality. Note that the PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation kits manufactured after February, 2025 will come pre-programmed with the new streaming firmware. But these steps can be followed to restore the streaming firmware during development.
Refer Tensor Streaming Protocol for Real-Time Data Collection to know more about the protocols.
Prerequisites:
1) Download the latest streaming firmware for the PSoC™ 6 AI Evaluation Kit (.hex) file from the following location:
https://developer.imagimob.com/Resources/streaming-firmware-ai-eval-kit.zip
2) Download and Install ModusToolbox™ Programmer (Flash Utility)
If you already have the full ModusToolbox™ package installed, you do not need to install the Programmer separately.
Steps:
1) Connect the board to computer using USB via the KP3-USB (J1)
2) Use ModusToolbox™ Programmer to open the downloaded firmware and select the correct Programmer (KitProg3 CMSIS-DAP) and Board (CY8CKIT-062S2-AI)
3) Connect and Program the firmware to board
4) Once programming has successfully completely, Disconnect board.
5) Data can now be collected by attaching the USB cable to the P6-USB (J2) port.
