There is an Ethernet to RS485 module that supports MQTT and Modbus.
Not only RS-485 but also RS-422 seems to be possible.
The image above is PP-Ethernet-RS485 module produced by Platypus. I recommend it because it seems to support various functions.
It is a module that uses Raspberry Pi's RP2040 and WIZnet's W5100S. It is a module that simply converts TCP/IP to RS-485.
The features are as above. PoE seems to be available as an option. Also, debugging is possible with USB and SWD.
Pinout is basically the same as above. PoE seems to work only when a module is installed separately. If you want, PoE can be manufactured in a way that is not attached to the header at all.
422/485 appears to be chosen as Header.
It seems that the way to control the module is to proceed with the Configuration Tool provided by WIZnet. WIZnet's Opensource FW is installed.
The price seems not bad compared to the above function. If you are interested, please purchase and use it.
