Have you ever found a huge piece of cardboard on the street and wondered what I could do with it... Okay here ther is a cool idea for educate people on sustainable approach and fun moments with your friends.
We want to build our world !!!
DescriptionA unique DIY board where players have fun both building and playing. The game features a cardboard, bio-material pieces, and a fully cooperative gameplay experience. So some times we just think a game as a tool only for have fun and play, also "SAVES ANIMAL (fuck off)" is a critical tool to criticize: material wastes, thanks to its DIY making process, and capitalistic individualism, because is a cooperative game.
Hope you'll enjoy read all the process and start do that with your friends and family, we've start changing from small things for have a possibilty to create a collective change. This game is developed for a specific place (as Barcellona) where Fab Lab communities and co-design is not just a fairy story but it's true reality, that works and provides tools and interventions for the all community.
- Place the movable tiles randomly on the cardboard board.
- Position the game pieces on the starting points marked with Xs in the four corners of the board.
- Deal the animal rescue cards to each player, when a player rescue all his/her animal he/she have to help the other ones to complete the task.
- Set a 10-minute timer and from 2 to 4 players. If you rescue all the animals before time runs out, you win! If not, you lose.
- Remember, it's a cooperative game! Be careful how you move and change the tiles during the game.
How the game works : There are corridors (marked by triangles) where you can slide tiles to create new paths. The goal is to create paths to rescue all the animals. If a piece is on a tile that moves off the board, that tile must be placed back at its starting position.
Making ProcessI'll explain you all the process in an understandable way, step by step, material and machine needed. Also you'll have the possibilities to take files from my github website and download all the files. Enjoy it !!!
MATERIALS:
- Cardboard sheet 600x1000 mm
- Cardboard sheet 600x250 mm
- Double side cardboard tape and scissor
- PLA phylament
- Silicon - EASLY 940-FDA (PART A and PART B)
- Scale
MACHINES:
- Laser cut - Trotec R500
- 3D print - Ender 3 PRO
TABLE // TILES // CARD:
Set your 600x1000mm cardboard sheet in the r500 laser cut machine, please be carefull the sheet has to be flat if is not the cut couldn't work as you want. Turn on the machine and set all the cutting parameters to have a perfect cutting and marking (probably you'll find some problems with the marking, but don't worrie is it fine). Use file called "Table-Tiles-Card".
Here all the parameters and determinates layer:
- Cut - color Blue speed 2.20 and power 22
- Marking - color Red speed 2.4 and power 13
So after this step you'll have to build the table. After the cut you'll have two pieces (400x400mm) one with some marked graphics and the other one without any graphics, so with double side cardboard tape attach the second one below the first one. After that you'll have 12 animal cards and 26 tiles. 9 Tiles will attach to the table, in particular the ones with the cross shape graphics (4) and the ones with T path shape (4) and one with cross path shape. Is easy to understand where attach the tiles thnaks to little square marked on the table.
PAWS:
The first thing to do is print with the 3d print 4 different shapes, download it on my git hub. The file is called "paws" and you can find rhino or 3M or G.CODE file, it depends on you in wich ones you wanna work, I suggest to just use the G.CODE.
Once you have printed the shapes the second step is to create a box in cardboard where the silicon will dry. You can download the file for cut the cardboard 600x250 mm sheet on my git hub, the file is called "Box Silicone Casting" and the parameters are the same as before.
- Cut - color Blue speed 2.20 and power 22
- Marking - color Red speed 2.4 and power 13
So after that you need to create silicon, I suggest you to follow this recepie.
- Mixing Ratio: EASLY 940-FDA has a 1:1 weight ratio between Part A and Part B.
- Use a precision scale to measure equal amounts of Part A and Part B (200g)
- Pour both components into a mixing container and stir thoroughly for at least 3-5 minutes until you achieve a uniform color.
- Be carefull to pour the silicon in the corner of the box for not create bubbles and break the mold (as I show in the picture)
- The silicone takes about 12-24 hours to fully dry it
- Once fully cured, carefully remove the mold box.
Also I want to share with you a biomaterial's receipes website, where you could find a lot of biomaterial and made it in your house (Materiom).
The only things that you need are:
- pan
- containers
- scale
- cooker
- spatula
For examples I choose white gelatine and actived carchoa, this was an idea to replicate chees color.
ConclusionI hope you like this project, very glad to share with you all my knowledge !!! Ei and feel free to customize whatever you want
