How does a Astute Car work??
Astute CAR is a remote controlled four wheeler empowered by Battery with Wireless charging system offering experience of driving a real car. The carrier consists of numerous sensors and a board to control the car with any distance of separation (between the driver and the car) with IoT.
In simple words, interfacing video gaming style with real racing.
What is Astute Car Race??
Astute Car Race uses these Astute cars to compete in a track that is powered with wireless IDT kit and power as in the track.
Outline:
The car is fitted with two Cameras C1 and C2 (to focus front and back side environment of the car respectively) and a neck (both of which can be independently controlled). The outline of the functioning is - turn your neck to change the neck of camera in the car and your eye movement changes the camera orientation in order to see the position and movement of the nearby vehicles in a display. It also gives the its speed, acceleration and its GPS coordinates. It has a dual mode present in it – that can be operated by voice control or by gesture(eye and neck).
But how to power all these - while in a race ??
Here comes IDT Wireless charging - to power the car in race - where the IDT wireless Transmitter is present in the Stadium while the receiver in the car.
Working:
1. Eye movement
The cameras (C1 and C2) are turned around using the signals sensed from the processed image of the eye. The position and picture of the iris is got from a small camera (C3) shaped like a glass (a wearable).
When iris position is at center of the eye, it means viewing straight and camera does not turn. When position of iris is not at the center, then the camera moves left/right in accordance with the movement of iris.
2. Neck control
The motion of neck of the camera is controlled by movement of our neck. EMG Muscle sensor with accelerometer and gyroscopic module(instrumented amplifier) is made in the shape of a neck cover which determines the angular rotation of the neck ( with the EMG and gyro data).
Thus when we want see the surrounding, we turn the neck and the neck of the camera is turned around. When eyes are moved the orientation of camera is altered(for slight change in the display of surrounding). These sensors(muscle sensor and processed image output signal) are plugged into the the board.
1.Brake/Accelerator control
Pressure sensors (Accelerometer) attached to two fingers of any one hand (a finger for acceleration and other for brake) sense the force applied in each finger and accordingly accelerates/retards the speed of the car. Harder you press finger 1 more the acceleration and harder you press finger 2 sharper is its break. A glove worn on another hand controls the car with gestures like the direction of motion using EMG, Magnetometer, Accelerometer and Gyroscopic data.
Voice Control – The car can be automated by voice input i.e., “slow” ,”Stop”, “fast” ,”moderate” – inputs when delivered by the driver(who is remote – from the car) can change the car speed.
MORE ABOUT ASTUTE CAR :
The car is installed with a board in which accelerometer is used to find the acceleration of the car and tachometer to find the speed / rpm of the car wheels. The IR sensors are placed at 10 points( 8 at uniform intervals around the car and 1 at top and bottom each) all around to know the distance between the car and its surroundings. GPS modules are present in car and with user to find the shortest path the car can take to reach the user. The modules provide relative position and shortest path linkage. The temperature, humidity, barometric and GPS data of the location are known by the user using the appropriate sensors in the board. The car has a password vault enabled – which can store secure things and can be secured from intruders.
There are 2 boards – one present in the car and other with the user and these 2 boards are connected with IoT?zigbee
