One fateful day, the generous Ray stopped class for the usual 5-minute break. He looked down at his phone and set his timer for five minutes, ready to pick up where he had left off explaining quantum microprocessors in the 6th dimension. Everything was going according to schedule. Suddenly, from the back of the lecture hall (which is literally OC for Pete's sake) a voice rang out.
"Professor Simar! Have you seen the gameplay trailer for the latest Mario game?"
The professor's face lit up. "Of course I have! I think the part where....."
Professor Simar awoke from his Mario-induced trance. The auditorium was empty. Class had ended 6 hours ago. His state of the art iPhone timer had failed him, and he saw that he could not depend on his students to get him back on track. Ray realized he needed a new timer, and he needed it fast.
Ray was also broke after investing all his money into the SquidGame cryptocurrency, and thus could not simply buy a brand new timer. Then the thought occurred to him: he could simply have his students build one for him! He would solve his problem of spending too much time on breaks, without spending too much money.
However, not just any group could be entrusted with such an important project. The fate of the class itself lay on the line, after all. After secretly evaluating each of his students for a week, tracking them in every facet of their daily lives with his secret RayTracker® technology, he found his people. They were to be called the RayTeam™, three qualified individuals with overwhelming ingenuity and technical savvy who could design his new timer despite the crippling lack of resources.
The team holed up inside Fondi. This was the most important week of their lives. The timer had to work. It had to. They launched Energia...
One week later:
At last, Ray held the perfect timer. It was capable of keeping track of the time down to the nanosecond, and on top of that was 100% indestructible as long as you didn't drop it or twist any of the wires too hard. It was infinitely superior to his iPhone, which had billions in R&D poured into it. As the cherry on top, the new timer even played his favorite Mario tune at the end, quelling his insatiable hunger for Mario every time it rang. His heart grew 5 sizes from the joy of having this new timer, although his wallet would remain empty.
