The MOD_Boy is another demo board designed to showcase the functionality of the HCC Module. It is a small gaming device that can be used as a standalone portable game system, or as a gamepad for your computer/emulator/Raspberry Pi.
It uses the HCC Module so it is super simple to solder together yourself. Its open source so if you want to change the design layout, add more buttons, make it bigger/better, then I encourage you to do so.
It has six buttons, a small 64x48 pixel OLED, a joystick, an on/off switch, battery connection, and a mode switch.
You can order the PCBs directly from PCBWay (I get a percentage of the purchase): https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/MOD_Boy___Arduino_Game_System_and_Controller.html
Check out the video above, as I go through the code of a very simple game I designed, and then how to make it into a game controller. I would love to see what games you come up with!
