The idea of the project was to create a box which can automatically grow all sorts of plants, with as less user interaction as possible, similar to http://www.clickandgrow.com/ The Greenbox is designed to be a closed box to have a better control over the whole growing procedure. ESP8266 to connect it to the web. For sensors you can use Arduino compatible temperature, light and humidity sensors. As the prototype for the hackathon demo we used a simple RGB LED strip, the final thing should use real grow lights of course. We used a 5V power supply as all the stuff needed 5V, the final thing should use a 12V power supply, so it can power the grow lights. We used the Relayr Wunderbar just because it was part of the hackathon. We made a web interface to control and monitor the box. The Arduino was connected to Relayr Wunderbar's bridge module for communication. Instead of Relayr Wunderbar you could use just the Arduino with some buttons as interface or use Ethernet or Wifi module (ESP8266) to connect it to the web.
