2 Months ago, I got myself an indoor hydroponics system so that I can grow my own vegetables for my own use.
The system itself was pretty easy to use. Simply ensure that the nutrient solution is maintained for the particular plant you are growing, include grow light, and it's basically self-running.
To maintain the nutrient and acidity level, a meter was used. Simply immerse the probe into the water, wait for about 1 minute, and get the reading done.
It was simple, but still too much work for me. I ended up spending about 20 mins everyday maintaining the system. This is not the kind of farming I wanted.
So I decided to make an autodoser!
The autodoser component was mainly built using dfrobot, because the Gravity series is pretty neat, everything can be assembled without much extra cabling.
Then, for the enclosure, I used a Dremel to create holes for the meter and the pumps! Could very much improve in this area definitely.
With the hardware done, the next step was to send the data to Thingspeak so that I can monitor my nutrient solution real-time.
