The goal of this project is to utilize the power of the FlexIO to expand the number of the hardware daughter boards available to be used with the FRDM-K82F simultaneously. The Grove sensor daughter boards, with 144+ choices and the "click" daughter boards with over 200+ choices, including the 48+ Pmod daughter boards from Digilent, can be controlled by the powerful full featured FRDM-K82F.
The engineer, the tinkerer, the maker of new ideas need to be able to quickly add hardware to their designs.
The final piece of the project will be a PCB board that connects into the FlexIO connector at the bottom of the board and has two MikroBUS slots and six Grove slots. Each of the daughter boards will be controlled using either I2C, SPI or UART. The user will write the unique application for his or her project based on the daughter boards being used, utilizing the SDK provided by NXP.
