Giingo Q-Shield is an open source drone development kit. Built for developers, enthusiasts and anybody who likes to tinker.
Giingo Q-Shield drone development kit hardware consists from two main and an auxiliary units.
1. Base Unit
Base Unit is the PCB built drone frame with the motors and battery attached. On base unit, there are core components of drone such as sensors, motor drivers and motors are attached to the base unit by 3D printed motor holder. In addition there is two RGB and four LEDs that helps to track the status of the flight and track visual.
Current supported control units from third parties are. Particle IoT Modules (i.e. Core and Photon).
3. Auxiliary Unit
Auxiliary units such as Ultrasonic Sensors, LED pads and Wireless Chargers are for expand the functionality and tinker more. Auxiliary units are connected through the expander connector of base unit.
Base Unit + Control Unit + Auxiliary Unit (Optional) = Drone development kit
Besides the hardware sides, the thing that enables any Wireless IoT module into drone is the Giingo Q-Shield Control Library.
The distinguishing thing of Giingo Q-Shield drone development kit from others is that it has a very portable Drone Control System Library. It is ported to every Control Unit's firmware.
Some highlighting features are:
- MAVLink integrated
- Controlling from Smartphone.
- State indicator LEDs,
- Expander board connecter.
- Auxiliary units, such as secondary radio.
- It will be an open source. (Work In Progress)
