Sensors are getting deeply integrated into our daily life making it more comfortable and safe. 3D magnetic sensors are designed to perform three dimensional sensing, capable of measuring 3D, linear and rotational movement, including contactless position sensing. Infineon 3D magnetic sensors meet new level of requirements on accuracy and power consumption needed within a broad range of applications: turn indicators or gearsticks in cars, e-meters, joysticks, and white goods control knobs are only few examples.
Infineon 3D magnetic sensors feature a small size TSOP-6, 6-pin package, high temperature stability and high communication speed with bidirectional communication between the sensor and microcontroller to ensure reliable system performance and functionality. All in all, 3D magnetic sensors from Infineon offer endless application opportunities unleashing design engineers’ creativity.
Infineon Technologies calls on enterprises and professional developers to explore the world of 3D magnetic sensors and come up with impressive ideas on new applications that should be built, using Infineon's 3D magnetic 2GO kit & Rotator Knob based on their TLE493D. The best thirteen projects will be rewarded. Don’t miss your chance to get acknowledged for your creativity.
Just one example explored already (replace an optical or resistive solutions in top column module TCM - as used in every car):
- take an existing TCM
- choose a suitable mechanical setup (here an aluminum baseplate)
- attach a magnet (as supplied in the 3D Magnetic Sensor 2Go kit) in the moving arm part of the lever
- attach the 2Go board opposite the magnet on fix plane
- install the software - which can be found on the Infineon link below
- connect your standard USB Micro cable to your PC
- ...and start evaluating...!
3D Magnetic Sensors – Highlights
- Low power consumption – theoretically runs over 39,100 years on two AA batteries
- Low cost design – does not eat your budget
Technical Highlights
- I2C digital interface
- Fast and bidirectional communication
- Bus mode possible
- 12bit data resolution
- +/- 160mT
Software Requirements:
Download our GUI and just follow the instructions.
Windows System only (no Mac).
