Step 2: Register To Participate
Start by creating a free account on Hackster.io (or sign-in if already a member) and register for the contest by clicking "Register as a participant". Then create your free AWS IoT Service account to get started.
Step 3: Submit Your Idea by November 8th 2015
- Click "Submit your idea" and fill in the template.
- Start with a high quality image which is fun (and legal to use).
- Tell us what you want to create.
- Share the hardware you intend to use.
- And tell us which AWS IoT Service will power your creation.
Step 4: Build Your Project by January 31st 2016
- Click "Submit an entry" and fill in the template.
- Describe your design that will connect the AWS IoT Service to your hardware of choice.
- Include plenty of details: what are you creating? What does it do? Why is it cool? Give ample of technical information.
- Check out this project on Hackster to get inspired.
- Your final project must consist of the following:
- Quality images;
- Clear instructions;
- BOM and schematics;
- Source code;
- CAD files if you created an enclosure.
You can build all sorts of triggers for all kind of actions: like calling an Uber ride, dimming your bedroom lights, or playing music through your Sonos system with a physical or virtual click of a button. It's IoT magic!
- Connect physical devices via HTTP/MQTT with the AWS IoT Service.
- Respond to signals from your devices and take action using Rules Engine.
- Create web and mobile applications that interact with any device at any time.
